Clifton Derrell hailing from Chi-town was an overly smart, punk, little kid who experienced his first electric moment when Eric B and Rakim's rhythm shook his soul. "What is that sound, and can I do that?!" That rhythm, those beats, the feeling of it never left his mind.
Under stimulated and stuck in overcrowded classes; boredom then anger ensued until a vested teacher challenged him. "Write what you feel, she said." Six pages later, she praised the creativity between his amazingly vulgar words...and an artist was born. That moment opened the door to many creative avenues that Clifton didn't see coming. Imagine a linebacker in tights impressively belting out Opera, who barely just learned he could hold a note.
Music class, competitions, high school theater...another moment was coming. Finding his voice paved the way to Roosevelt University where he aspired to give back like the teacher who gave to him.
Fast forward to adulthood - where an aneurysm put everything on hold until his first G athering of the Juggalo's where once again a fire was lit which led to his first MC contest win. He later went on to perform under many personas including Killa Kat, Kataklyzmik, and now Clifton Derrell the realist enters with humor and his lyrical truth.
